Why Did You Do It
American baritone vocalist. Born 16 February 1883 in New York, died 27 February 1948 in Hempstead, Nassau County, New York. Older brother of Irving Kaufman. He formed a vaudeville act "Kaufman Bros" with his brother Philippe Kaufman (Phil). After Phil’s death (1918), he teamed up with his younger brother Irving Kaufman, under the name "Jack and Irving Kaufman". Married to Rosina Carson Kaufman (a.k.a. Olive York), an English showgirl.
