Beautiful Etrusca Deruta Italy Hand made, painted & Signed Espresso Cup & matching Saucer featuring a rooster.
•This vintage set is in like new condition. They have been well cared for and have no defects or damage of any kind. The saucer measures 4-3/4” in diameter. The espresso cup is 2-7/8” in diameter, not including the handle and it is 1-5/8” tall. Each piece was made entirely by hand, from the clay pottery itself to being hand painted and signed.
•Deruta Majolica: Majolica, the name given to the style of tin-glazed, decorated pottery that reached its peak in the 1500’s in Renaissance Italy, is produced in many Italian towns, with Deruta being the most famous.
Artisans in Deruta still apply age-old techniques to produce the ceramics, from throwing local clay on a potter’s wheel to meticulous hand painting.
